Katy Miller was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, coming from a family of creative minds and educators. After graduating from McNeese State University with a Master's in Special Education, she moved to Spring, Texas with her husband, Jason. She attributes her teaching techniques and classroom ideas from the three years she taught special education at Krimmel Intermediate. Upon having her first child, Griffin, the Miller's decided it was time to move back to where they grew up and plant their roots. Now working at The Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, Katy teaches the Progression's program tailored for special needs children.
Her love for her students and desire to spread awareness inspired her writing career. While Katy experiences the magic and greatness of each student she has been blessed to work with, most people do not have such an opportunity. Being able to share stories and topics in a way that is comfortable for all is the key to opening conversations some may be hesitant to talk about. The more we know, the more we understand. The more we understand, the more we accept. Accept people all ways, always and love deeply.
